FAQs

How do I know which type of therapy is best for me?

Our therapists are trained in evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, and more (and it is totally normal not to know what any of those mean). During your first few sessions, we’ll work with you to understand your goals, preferences, and needs—and tailor the therapy style accordingly. You don’t need to have it figured out before you begin. Mental health is journey and may involve multiple approaches to best meet you where you are.

Is everything I talk about in therapy kept confidential?

Yes, confidentiality is a core part of the therapeutic relationship. What you share stays private, with a few legal exceptions (like concerns about safety or abuse). We can go over these in detail during your intake so you always know where things stand, but you can think of our therapists as professional secret keepers.

Does Beehive Mental Health accept health insurance?

Yes—we proudly accept most major insurance plans because we believe mental health care should be accessible to everyone. We’re constantly working to stay in-network with as many carriers as possible, so don’t hesitate to reach out and ask about your plan.

How much will each visit/session cost me?

If you're paying out-of-pocket, our standard rate is just $120 per session—one of the most affordable rates for a group practice along the Wasatch Front. This is the same rate for all locations, therapists, and whether you come in-person or meet virtually.

How do I know what my insurance will cover?

If you’re unsure, the best bet is to call the number on your insurance card and ask about your mental or behavioral health benefits, as knowing what your plan will cover is ultimately your responsibility. Coverage can vary widely, even within the same insurance company (and your benefits may differ for in-person vs. virtual sessions). That said, we always try to give you an estimate of your costs ahead of time, so you're not caught off guard.

Does Beehive Mental Health provide medication management services?

We don’t currently prescribe or manage medications at Beehive, but we’re happy to support you on the therapy side while helping you find a trusted provider who can handle the medication piece. Many of our clients benefit from a team-based approach, and we’re always here to collaborate and coordinate care when needed.
