Amelie Zichy-Thyssen is a bilingual and highly skilled therapist passionate about helping individuals heal and thrive. She specializes in working with trauma and mental health challenges such as major depression, severe anxiety, self-harm, and suicide ideation. She integrates existential and Gestalt therapy approaches into her practice and is skilled in evidence-based techniques, including EMDR, to help clients navigate their emotional experiences and build resilience.
Amelie’s passion for creating a safe and validating therapeutic space stems from her professional experience as well as her perspective as a parent of teenagers. She is dedicated to fostering meaningful growth for her clients through individualized care and collaboration.
Amelie holds a BS in Public Health Science from UC Irvine, where she was a Regents Scholar, and an MA in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, graduating with high distinction. Amelie is licensed as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor (ACMHC) in Utah and as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) and a Professional Clinical Counselor (PCC) in California.
Outside of her professional life, Amelie enjoys horseback riding, running, weight training, and spending time with her family and dogs.
